2020 MCS Schedule Released;
Season Opener Slated for May 9!
8, 2020) Following a long off-season, the staff at Muskingum
County Speedway is gearing up for the start of their 2020 racing
season on Saturday evening, May 9! The Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association
(OVSCA) will pay the Zanesville, Ohio facility a visit during Opening
Night, along with a full program of Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds,
Mod-Lites, Sport Mods, and 4-Cylinders. Grandstand admission for
the 2020 lid lifter at MCS will be $20.00 for adults with kids 12
and under being admitted for FREE. Pit passes for all ages will
be $35.00. The pit gates will swing open at 3:00pm, the grandstands
will open an hour later at 4:00pm, hot laps will begin at 6:00pm,
and the first competitive laps of the season will start with racing
at 7:00pm. | full
Kids Night Closes Out
2019 Season at Muskingum Co. Speedway!
3, 2019) The 2019 season at Muskingum County Speedway in
Zanesville, Ohio wrapped up tonight with a special Kids Night. In
addition to a bike give-a-way and kids prizes, seven different racing
divisions were in racing competition. Winners in the 2019 season
finale included Shane McLoughlin (Super Late Models), Aaron Scott
(Modifieds), Jimmy Smith (Mod-Lites), Ryan Commeans (Sport Mods),
Tim Penley (Street Stocks), Phillip Bubeck (4-Cylinders), and Rolly
Heyder (Trucks). A special thank you to all of the race teams, drivers,
crews, fans, employees, sponsors, etc. for your support throughout

Knepper Tops Star-Studded Field for $2,000 Mod-Lite Win!
20, 2019) It was a blazing hot day today at Muskingum County
Speedway, but the racing action at the Zanesville, Ohio speedplant
was even hotter! The Ohio State Championship Race was held and a
great car count turned out in all racing divisions. 42 Mod-Lites
piled into the pit area and when the dust had settled, Allan Knepper
came out on top to pocket the $2,000 payday over Rod Jones, Tracy
Fritter, Jimmy Smith, and Anthony Kinkade. Other winners on the
evening included Todd Brennan (Super Late Models), Jesse Wisecarver
(Modifieds), Cruz Vandall (Sport Mods), Tim Penley (Street Stocks),
and Kevin Graap (4-Cylinders). |
Muskingum's Lucas Oil
Late Model Dirt Series Event Washed Out
3, 2019) Wednesday night's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
stop at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio was rained
out due to late-afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The $12,000-to-win
event will not be rescheduled. Anyone who purchased advanced tickets
are subject to a full refund. Tickets may also be used at any other
event at Muskingum County Speedway during the 2019 season.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to action
on Thursday at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park, followed by Tyler
County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.Va. on Friday, and Mansfield
(Ohio) Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Dale Blaney Holds Off
Scelzi and Larson for Sprint Speedweek Victory!
16, 2019) Although it took nearly three years for Hartford,
Ohio’s Dale Blaney to find Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All
Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory lane before
his triumph at Stateline Speedway on June 8, it took only eight
days to do it again, this time earning night three of Cometic Gasket
Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Indy Metal Finishing at Muskingum
County Speedway in Dresden, Ohio.
Forced to withstand heavy offense from a pair of California
hotshots, Gio Scelzi and Kyle Larson, Blaney’s Speedweek triumph
ultimately bumped his career win total to 136 with Tony Stewart’s
All Star Circuit of Champions, now with two victories in 2019. Impressive
enough, Blaney nearly swept the Speedweek program at Muskingum County,
winning his respective heat race and dash before leading all 30
circuits of main event competition.

Drown Pockets $2,000 in Super Late Model Action at MCS!
1, 2019) Mother Nature finally cooperated with Muskingum
County Speedway tonight and nearly 100 racecars piled into the pit
area for the first official race of the 2019 campaign at the Zanesville,
Ohio dirt oval. Doug Drown, of Wooster, Ohio, came out on top in
the Super Late Model division to pocket the $2,000 winner's check
ahead of Shane McLoughlin, Steve Prince, Freddie Carpenter, and
Ryan Markham. Other winners on the evening included Kevin Crawford
(Modifieds), Tracy Fritter (Mod-Lites), Ryan Commeans (Sport Mods),
Tim Penley (Street Stocks), and Kevin Graap (4-Cylinders). |
Inclement Weather Washes Out Outlaws Showdown...
19, 2019) World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model
Series and Muskingum County Speedway officials have decided to postpone
Sunday’s events due to already wet grounds and impending showers.
Both parties are working diligently to find another reschedule date.
The next show at the Zanesville, Ohio oval will be Saturday, June
1 - a program that features Super Late Models paying $2,000 to win
along with Modifieds, Mod-Lites, Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and
Rain Pushes Back Outlaws
Invasion of MCS to Sunday, May 19
17, 2019) Due to early morning and afternoon showers around
the Zanesville, Ohio area, World of Outlaws and Muskingum County
Speedway officials have decided to push Friday night’s events
over to Sunday evening, May 19. Pit gates will open at 12 p.m.,
spectator gates at 1 p.m. and hot laps at 4 p.m. Teams have been
instructed to enter through the South pit gate and stay on the road
when entering the pits. ALL PIT PASSES FROM TONIGHT WILL
BE HONORED FOR SUNDAY'S RACE!
